By the way, Vancouver can potentially have a really big earthquake. Would not want an apartment in that thing during such a quake even though I'm sure they had the best engineers (hopefully not the ones who told us the Millennium Tower didn't need anchoring to bedrock) certify the design.

The balconies are the most interesting thing about it and I'm amazed at your comment because in your city or anywhere with warmer and less chronically windy weather than San Francisco (where 20C qualifies as a warm summer day) I think they'd be even more attractive and useful. Love the idea of having business meetings out there (remember, this building is all office).

Well, we are about to get our very own version of this design in SOMA.

The proposed project at 655 Fourth is waaaaay better than the Vancouver House. As far as Park Tower however, it will be covered up from the pictured angle (facing North) in a few years, so it shouldn't be as noticeable in the future.

To me they look nothing alike. I actually like the SF proposal but I expect it to become much more conventional looking by the time it gets built. Seems like everything does.

on the west (Beale) side of this project, besides the sidewalk planters, there is additional green I hadn't noticed before

(and well, these are not so green at the moment...)

If someone has the chance, can you take pics of the lobby of the building and the green space in the east side?

Thanks in advance!

I hear it chips very artistically when "grinding" on the edge with a skateboard.

It's a tiny one, but definitely excited to see it once it's wrapped.

Does anyone know if this lil pocket park has a name yet? Still haven't been able to find any renderings.

It's part of the open space for Park Tower. And the current treatment is just an "interim" or "temporary" layout. It will have a more permanent design with trees at some point. The document below doesn't seem to set a timeline for the final design though.
