Indeed. Crane parts are lying in the street, and footings are starting to go in throughout the site.

That appears to be the decking that will bring the floor plates up to ground level.

Some pictures I took of the project today. Most of the lot is now up to ground level.

Where is all this "motel" stuff coming from? Traditionally, a motel is where you enter a room from the outside (think Red Roof Inn or....motel 6). When you enter from an interior hallway (Mariott/Hilton), it's a hotel.

Call it a motel if you'd like, but it's not.

The crane tower has a big LED stripe like the Ritz across the street. Ties it to the site across the street quite nicely.

Nice pictures.

They did a concrete pour yesterday afternoon and added rebar to extend the columns up to the 2nd floor today.

According to the Downtown News, this is supposed to top out in July. It's hard to imagine that right now, given the anemic pace construction has moved at thus far.

They've been doing about one floor per month.

In fairness, they have sped up the pace a bit lately. Maybe two or three per month since they've gotten past the podium.

Nice pics, Mr. Floyd.

Looks like they're adding about one floor per week, based on where they were in the pic I took towards the end of February. It's halfway to the top now.
