I think one thing about our skyline that I'll miss most once this tower goes up, is the visibility of the big 4 from all angles.

N, S, E, W. Even most diagonals . You could always see the big 4.

Just not going to be the same with this one. From the West and from the Art Museum for sure. Going to block out a few.

You're right. I think its just a matter of the best view will now shift, probably to a south western vantage point.

Probably the best views are from the South Street Bridge, mid-span
.

From the stadiums you still have a good view of the whole skyline and can see all the major buildings.

I get on the Schuylkill at Vare and the view is spectacular there.

FMC, Roberts, and the west Market towers look incredible from that angle, and really make the city look a lot bigger than it really is. There's almost an illusion that there's more big towers behind the ones that you can see.

I was thinking the same thing, but could it be they're erecting the lantern first while building the cooling tower around it? There were large pieces of something stacked on the east end of the roof yesterday on the webcam, not sure what they were but maybe that's what he was referring to? Just looked back to see but the current shot is all fog

Walked by this morning. But couldn't really see what was going on up top because of the fog.

Saw it yesterday. Steel is going up in the west side to the roof level now. No cooling tower or spire yet.

Awesome photo. Resized it for you because it was too big.

That certainly is a good photo. I'm just hoping this one will have good lighting. After all, the first Comcast is lit pretty well, isn't it?

Comcast 1 is lit, but its done in a understated sortof way, which probably fits the type of building it is-----large, well proportioned, functional and not too flashy.
