It looks as though Montreal's tallest building under construction has changed. Although Altitude was slated to be the tallest building constructed in Montreal since 1992, construction on the ~40-floor Marriott seems to be getting under way (we'll likely get better renderings and clarification on the actual height in a few weeks). The weird thing about this project is there is nothing about it online (aside from MTLURB and SSP). The only information we have is from the renderings Gilbert obtained (they look old because they were photocopied then scanned), and vague descriptions provided by the parking lot attendants and now the construction workers.

They have started ripping up the pavement of what was previously a parking lot in prime real-estate along René-Lévesque Blvd (corner Bleury).

Doesn't the city of Montreal have online documents?

Even though the pictures are in black and white, htat building really loks nice. A very nice edition to the Montreal skyline. Let hopes Montreal keeps getting more buildings and maybe someday they will make the top 11-30 list for buildings under-construction.

Unfortunately, it doesn't.

By the way, Altitude is not the highest tower build here since 1992. I'm pretty sure the Hilton Garden Hill (37 stories) is higher, as well as the CGI tower on René-Lévesque.

Are you sure? Altitude is slated to be 123 metres (well at least according to some press release on the city of Montreal's website). Neither the Hilton Garden Inn or the CGI tower hit 120m as far as I know.

Well, maybe you're right. But I do find it surprising that a residential tower of 33 stories would be 123 meters high.

A few changes:

Montreal's tallest U/C s no longer Altitude, but iis instead the Marriott: 40 floors - not sure exact height. The site the Marriott will be located on is currently undergoing site preparation (if that counts).

In Longueuil: The Blu Rivage is complete. It can be removed from the list. The next tallest project in Longueuil is now the SAX Longueuil which is 7 floors. I will have to confirm if it is actually under U/C.

In Brossard, the tallest U/C is the Tysel Tower, which will be 14 floors.

The tallest in London is not Medallion. It is The Renaissance at 28 stories and 93.5 m.

The 40 floor Marrriott is definitely under construction now! Very attractive slender looking tower. It should stand out in Montreal.

See mtlurb for photos of the digging (http://www.mtlurb.com/forums/showthr...A9tages/page34)

What's the source of this height? City documents, the developer?

The source is Gilbert, from Mtlurb. He was also the first to be aware of this project and I think he is reliable.

May as well bring this thread back to life, I don't have the heights but this office tower in Kelowna, the Landmark 6, is now its tallest u/c at 18 floors.

Here is a render:

Construction has already started, here are some pics I took last week:

All pics are my own

This tower will add 200 000 sq feet of office to Kelowna.

^ Interesting. A tribute to 1980s mall professional buildings? Only kidding. I actually like it. It has a nice, if dated (historicist?), modernist aesthetic.

351 Water Street, East Port Properties - Woolworth's Site Office Development
11-12 stories, ~ 47.4 meters, 6 parking levels, retail and about 160,000 sq ft of class A office space. The development will front on Water Street and Harbour Drive.

Beating out 351 Water Street by 1.6 meters, the 49 meter Fortis Tower now becomes the tallest building under construction in St. John's.
