Kinda reminds me of a smoothed out version of Museum Plaza in Louisville--it incorporates similar elements.

La Défense is outside Paris.
Nothing to worry about.

Officially yes, in reality no.
Paris and the inner suburbs is the same city.
Saying that La Defense is not in Paris is like saying that New York is only Manhattan.

In 2008, it could be officially in the same city with Greater Paris project, one of most important for Paris, because Paris with only 2 million created a lot of problem so Paris with 6.5 million would be better.

I am different oppinion. I like those news renderings a lot. The front is wonderful cuz is future hi-tech right nowm informal and whatever shape and the behind square parts is the ugly one, too common. I would like the bldg built right now to improve Paris Skyline better. We need real some future being real someday, not waiting too long for the same boring stuff of boxes.

This building reminds me of those countless moments while watching scifi movies that was predicting waht the future world would look like and thinking "Too bad, buildings will never look that cool during my lifetime". And then along comes this and Jean Nouvel's proposal in New York with all those messed up supporting structures and, oh so, organic feel to them.

To me this is one of the most beautiful building in the world if and when build. And some how this reminds me of Dark Arcology from Simcity 2000, but in white of course.

This thing isn't just ugly, it's fucking ugly. On top of that, it looks like some terrorist had his way with the roof using copious amounts of TNT.

Trash. A tragedy to beautiful city that deserves so much more. The city of lite's tallest will be the laughing stock of the continents.

I'm late to this argument, but I like it. Wouldn't work in a mid-western US city of course, but in Paris, its quite striking.

I Totally agree with you and Paris really does deserve a whole lot better. This thing is horrible. If I were to have a choice of picking this thing as my new tallest or nothing at all,i would certainly choose NOTHING AT ALL!I would be embarrassed to live in a city with something this ugly. But Paris will always be in my list of "Cities That I Have To Go To".

the most impressive part of this building is what wont be seen immediatly , the huge connection to the underground facilities.
The building itself is a complete nightmare

ok, this building is ugly. simple as that, some people on drugs might have thrown this together and thought it could work as a skyscraper, but it just cant. it might go as a peice of abstract art. a sculpture even. to make this into a building would just be horendous, and the top is the worst part. if that was cleared up the whole thing would look much better.

Hurray for Paris for building a skyscraper that everyone hates!!!

Some people get too stuck to conventions. Lighten up people. Conformity isn't cool.

It's a blob with a bad hairdo. And originality in architecture is overrated.

Boy i do NOT like this tower at all now. The back looks horrible and the top looks unfinished. that look doesn't always play good. Check out the roof of the New York Times Tower.
