If Your Province Had to Choose Another Capital

If your province had to choose another capital, where do you think it should be?

The first Alberta legislature voted 16-8 in favour of Edmonton as capital over Calgary. Banff and Red Deer were also proposed as possibilities, but those motions failed to find seconders.

I'd say Sudbury for Ontario, for its more central location (if that's even relevant).

Really? I like that the capitals are in these smaller centres. Especially QC, fits perfectly there. For Ontario I'd say Kingston or London.

History should be corrected and Montréal should retrieve its title as the National Capital. Ottawa be damned.

I wonder if SOQ (some of Quebec) or MOC would be more upset by that prospect?

A better question would be whether there are any situations where it wouldn't automatically default to the largest/next largest city?

Red Deer might be a good compromise city for Alberta. Kind of like what Queen Victoria did for Ottawa.

Truro is very centrally located in Nova Scotia.

It's interesting to think what kind of city Banff could have become if it had been capital.

Was it Philip Michael Thomas from Miami Vice who sang "Just the way God planned it"?

This post reminds me of that song.

Possibly only Ontario - seeing as the next largest city is the national capital.

For AB - Crossfield, exactly half way between Edmonton and Lethbridge

Just kidding. Honestly Edmonton is where it should be.

Honestly it would have been terrible, imagine that area in the mountains but 10 times as big, would have decimated wildlife and the natural environment even more than has already happened.

I'd choose Montreal. We've been getting fucked over by apathetic Quebec City long enough.
