University of Utah Health ranked 6th among 107 academic medical systems for quality of care

by Ben Lockart
https://www.deseretnews.com/article/...y-of-care.html

SALT LAKE CITY — A recently concluded quality of care study has ranked the University of Utah Health system sixth among 107 academic medical centers nationwide.

The system was ranked for the safety, timeliness, effectiveness, efficiency and equity of its care, as well as its focus on patients, University of Utah Health spokeswoman Kathy Wilets said in a statement.

The review, named the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study and formerly called the University HealthSystem Consortium Awards, has ranked University of Utah Health in the top 10 for eight consecutive years, including No. 1 rankings last year and in 2010.

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, which earned this year's top ranking, is the only other organization to receive a top 10 ranking for eight years in a row....

That's awesome. We'll be passing Sacramento and Pittsburgh soon as well.

J-Note Unveil & Public Open House

Quote:
After more than 25 years as the premier sports and entertainment venue in Salt Lake City, a new era at Vivint Smart Home Arena begins Tuesday (September 26) as the Miller Family unveils an iconic Utah Jazz statue on the plaza and holds a public open house to showcase the $125 million renovation on all six levels to enhance the guest experience.

All fans are invited to attend this event.

The unveiling ceremony for the statue is scheduled for 10 a.m. on the arena’s northeast plaza, with free, self-guided tours of the arena beginning immediately afterward.

An illuminated navy, green and gold J-Note, measuring 14-feet high and 21-feet wide, will be revealed on the outside, while on the inside, visitors will be able to take self-guided walking tours of the arena, featuring the 12,000-square-foot atrium with an exclusive Jazz Team Store, redesigned lower and upper bowl concourses with new fully cushioned seats in the bowl, destination dining restaurants, and upgraded Jazz locker room facilities.

The first scheduled event in the renovated Vivint Smart Home Arena is the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert on September 27 followed by a full array of Jazz games; upcoming shows from Katy Perry, Billy Joel, Lady Gaga, Foo Fighters and The Killers; and special events ranging from the Harlem Globetrotters to Disney on Ice. The arena hosts more than 100 events and 1.8 million guests every year.

No Sunday Problems for Chick-fil-A here.

Hope Rudy isn't the next endorser of Baileys.

I really like the upgrades and new look of that arena in Salt Lake City. It looks and has a similar lighting to the AT&T Center where the Spurs play in San Antonio. That arena is amazing.

I appreciate the large anti vehicle posts that will keep vehicles from running down pedestrians.

Looks rad. Cupbob and R & R are great concessions choices. Can't wait to go to a Jazz game!

photos from the test run tonight. Looks nice especially considering the short deadline. I'm sure the VIP areas got even more treatment. Hopefully I'll get to walk through those soon.

Some developers are essentially building blight. The city should declare that corner blighted.

200 S West Temple is already the epitome of ugly. Why do we have to make it worse? I'm hoping this is an elaborate, cruel joke. Or that this hotel has funding issues. Unfortunately it looks so cheap funding issues might be impossible. I probably have enough spare change between my couch cushions to pay for it.

Is it too late to organize a protest against the building of this monstrosity?
