I like BIG's smaller projects, and the only highrise of theirs that is worth taking about is the Pyramid building in NYC....but all of their other highrises are just gimmicks with no substantial dialogue required. And I'm sorry, but 2WTC is also just as banal as this...

2WTC doesn't fit in with the other 3.

Yeah, "gimmick" is a good word to describe BIG's projects.

Sometimes the gimmicks are relevant and worthwhile, but most of the time they're not.

That said, from what I've seen the basic quality of the buildings are better than average, so I'd rather have BIG designing a building than whatever the local developer comes up with. But I think considering BIG's position, they should be held to a higher standard.

Hate the new 2WTC, but I like this. Maybe it's just me.

With all starchitects I think we get kind of a mixed bag. They take a risk with every new project they make and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work. Here it doesn't work. However I really like BIG. I agree 2 WTC isn't good but I love the pyramid building they're making on west 57th. I'd really like to see them make something in LA which they probably eventually will because they're not going away any time soon.

The only tower that I like from BIG so far is the Pyramid building in NYC, other than most of the skyscrapers are complete garbage, especially 2 WTC.
