[Burnaby] Solo District | 45fl, 48fl & 48fl Complete | 52fl U/C

An interesting find on the Chris Dikeakos website, some conceptual images of the proposed large residential and commercial development at the corner of Lougheed Highway and Willingdon Ave in Burnaby. I believe that the final floor count, particular for the commercial towers, is still TBD.

Pretty sure this project has been placed on indefinite hold. I'm sure it will see the light of day but not for a few years.

I think this development is the southwest corner, the Carter dealership is the southeast corner, is there another dealership on the southwest corner?

Yeah last I heard this project was on hold and the commercial tower was scaled back significantly. Hopefully by the time this project is back on line a commercial tower of some significance is financially viable, it could do wonders to really anchor Brentwood as a major town centre.

Brentwood has seen tons of development lately and there are still things under construction. I'm in favor of more, but I think what is there needs to settle in a bit first.

That's at the northwest corner. The development is proposed for the southwest corner.

I used to work at Earth Tech (now AECOM) in the Madison Centre office tower which is fully used. Last I heard, both AECOM and CMW Insurance were in need of more office space, so the office tower at Citi should have some tenants although I wonder how quickly it'll fill up with the economy.

The area is shaping up quite nicely.

i think you are thinking about the project at kingsway and edmonds.

there is a fairly new library and community center just a couple Kms north at Hastings and willingdon.

The developer for this project is Appia, They also did Buchanan and are currently doing Motif.

I'd give this a few years before it breaks ground but I'm still impressed especially with the 30 storey commercial component.

Well before this project was put on hold the 30 storey commercial was axed so save your impressions for when the project comes back online.

no part of this development was to include a library or something so the developer got more height at this spot

this project was in the news and forum years ago - i am sure someone can dig it up

either way the brentwood area has 1000's of new residents and no public centres or librarys
