3 blocks and good light in downtown Los Angeles

I had occasion to be down in LA last Thursday for an event in the Aon Tower. Since I don't get down there by myself often anymore and certainly not with my camera, I took advantage.

I didn't feel like fighting afternoon traffic in the basin, so I parked and took the subway in.

Popped up at 7th Street and was greeted by the new Wilshire Grand. A lovely tower, not the tallest in my book, but certainly a sizeable addition to the skyline. I only had about 60 minutes before the event so I stuck relatively close...

Metropolis will be a game changer for this area of downtown...

Not if you want to get there any time soon...

Why?

Respect...

The view from Aon was marvelous, but it wasn't the right environment to bust out the big camera. Maybe next time.

You colossal beast...

Very nice, I wish I had time to visit downtown LA more often but the need to sleep takes presidence in my free time with a newborn baby in the house. I love the angles you captured in your shots. BTW, I'm jealous you got to see the view from the top of the Aon.
