Not only will this block the hideous Executive Tower, it will also make it look better by acting as the anchor tower to the 4S, Brooks & Executive trio. I hope we get the 2nd 4S tower before 2020.

I love how this is starting to poke up above other buildings.

Also, it is really going to help balance the skyline out toward the northwest.

This and Spire going up is making for an exciting drive up and down Speer. I drove last night for the first time and could see what I've been missing stuck in the bike lanes along the creek.

I grew up in Denver, so it is nice to see the skyline changing for the first time since I was a wee child.

EDIT: Also, is the thread title correct? The diagram has the roof height at 565, a good 70-foot difference. The pinnacle height is consistent, however.

You're right. The heights are probably based on the original design. It should read:

Four Seasons Hotel & Residence | 640' Spire / 565' Roof | 45 Floors

Any help from the mods?

Yeah... I'm hoping that the glass and the design of the top floors will alleviate any blandness.

By my count, 4S is at 22 stories. She's about 1/2 way up, in floor count!

I actually also agree; I have been disappointed in the facade thus far. After seeing so many different renderings, it definitely hasn't turned out in the way I thought it was going to. I remember thinking at one point it was going to be a great brick, or a textured tan, and the smooth concrete does seem quite lackluster for a building that is costing 350 million to build.

At the very least, I am hoping that the setbacks and balconies they are about to start on the upper floors will bring more shape and dimension to the tower. And at least they have put on some good looking glass!

Yeah I'm not a fan of the setbacks, ornaments, spire, etc, either.......

Up, up and away! They've started the first floor setback for the building (24th floor). Thanks to CPVLIVE for the heads up.

I'm really looking forward to this being complete. It will be real nice to have a building in Denver with a crown and a pinnacle. While these architectural flourishes are overused somewhat in my nonexpert opinion, it will be a nice addition to the Denver skyline.

Thank you everyone for the photos and updates.
