^^^ I remember one of the members here or at SSC posting something last year about a letter he got back from Enterprise explaining why they considered taller buildings inherently cost ineffective, blah blah blah...BS, of course, but that was the paradigm they seemed to buy into at the time.

What are the similar towers to MP4? I assume it was all one planned development. Was OMP and OPMW part of that same plan?

Yes OMP OMPW are part of the larger mega planned Central Station Development.

This is really going to help fill out the Chicago skyline. I think it would be cool if they put a glass ceiling or something over the tracks. Give the city a more futuristic look. I'm sure a bunch of people would disgaree, but I think it'de be badass.

Nice shots, Tom. Whenever I see your OMP shots, I can help but wonder why they can't deck those tracks.

Great photos! The view of the northern wall and western gives it that central park feel only with more diverse buildings. OMP and OMPW are going to be great fillers to the souther wall.

I know many dislike this building, but I think this is a great foot forward in the South.

Nah. What I ACTUALLY want is for them to rebuild Columbus underground where the tracks are and cover columbus with parkland. They should follow the Chicago Prize thing to and put LSD semi-underground.

Tell that to the taxpayers

I never said it would be cheap...but I don't think its beyond feasable. Especially since we are worried abotu overdeveloping parks...I think it would be nice to take the roads out of Chicago's front yard.

I don't necessarily think it is a bad idea to have the streets running through grant park. It definitely gives a good place for parades and festivals. I think the two things i would like to see in GP is the much sought for bridging over the tracks with a park. And better access over LSD & columbus. but we get off topic

I am in tower 3 (just south of OMP) and they just opened our pool deck so i can get pretty close to the building. Standing right next to it and imagining it going up another 25-30 stories is impressive. I can't wait for OMP & OMPW to finish.

Hey, should we expand this thread to be both OMP & OMPW? It seems like it is not worth making a new thread for each building.

Grimshaw's Waterloo Station comes to mind. It has a very beautiful canopy structure, with Grimshaw's classic structural detailing. I'd rather see something like that at least where they are putting in that new metra station.

I think at least some of the tracks shouldn't be decked over, but it definitely makes sense in certain areas.
