There are plans to cut it back with 30m but I haven't found any official date for the construction start

It sure looks like an disused line and there comes only one line to mind if this used to be an S-bahn line: somewhere north west of Jungfernheide

It could be the Siemens line, that's up there near Jungfernheide!

in this map you can see the three old disused stations "Gartenfeld, Siemensstadt, and Wernerwerk" near Siemensdamn and Rohrdamm on the U7 line!

that last rendering of Hackesher Markt is so much better looking than the previous ones posted, I take it this is how it will be built?

What is plattenbau? I googled it and it says disk building?

Thx for posting the pics!

I found this translated from German about the spree balcony/brommybrucke!

http://translate.google.co.uk/transl...ial%26hs%3D6vk

I wonder when they will build the brommybrucke and I would imagine they will rebuild the bridge at am Koln park near Markisches museum?

that pic looks like the Germania thing for testing the strength of the soil?

cheers

This link below is good for old Berlin maps, one can see how the area East of the Alex was demolished for the commy block planning in the mid 1960s and all the old streets were totally lost!

A good link below for a 3d and 2d digital model of Berlin!

I hope they tidy up around that Spreebalkon otherwise it would look silly. It certainly needs new stonework.

I remember the Campanile project under another name and honestly I am really surprised to see this tower getting built.
What a fine location

The Alexanderplatz towers are still planned but honestly it is getting very out of date with those proposals and I would rather see towers built on another location.

Perhaps near the HBF (who is in my opinion a complete waste of money) , a fourth city centre could be a good idea though.
Where the covered tracks of the S-bahn are create a artificial lake to make an "fake island" as a remembrance of the many waterways in the city,
towers look much better in the vicinity of water:
