They should do something with the inner surface. Otherwise, I like the shape.

Beautiful shape.. It would look so much better if the inner part were glass as well!

I don't think it should be glass. The contrast with the outer side is very important here. But they need to do something.

It isn't concrete. It is limestone. And the stone portion makes this tower. It would be far less interesting to look at were it all glass.

^^^i agree^^^

this tower would look gawd-awful with glass everywhere. the limestone doesn't make this tower by itself, but it completes it. it also doesn't look dubai-ish. dubai paints over concrete, this is the real deal. hell, if we're gonna compare the beige to something it would have to be to the disgusting shit american builders have come up with, although lately beige has been used in some good projects i'll admit.

btw, limestone was used because it's a great insulator. there are windows on the inside to let light in, but they've been positioned so that it doesn't let in too much heat. the 'wings' were carved out based on the sun's path for the same reasons as well. and that glass. fucking sexy

P.S: Charles54 had pointed out in the Supertalls thread that the levels directly below the Sky lounge are the mechanical floors. sigh! so either the blogger is referring to the executive levels 74-74 or he got the info about the restaurant wrong...n i'm praying it's the former...

I love this tower-
It reminds me of the St. John's Abbey in Collegeville Minnesota, desighed by the famous Bauhaus architect Marcel Breuer...

Absolutely massive, and very iconic shape. Kuwait has quickly built up a strong skyline.

Kuwait City has to be one of the most futuristic looking cities Ive seen. Its what I would expect cities to look like in 2050.
