Burrito Boyz opened this week and has been busy every time I have been in there (which has been quite often because they are close and awesome)

Jade Garden's renos are entering the final yards by the looks of things. Slow going but it seems pretty solid.

There's a Peruvian place going in on King William between Hughson and John, beside It's a Food Thing.

On another thread someone was pointing out that the Pagoda restaurant has moved from downtown to Main St. E., east of Ottawa. I wonder what happened that they left Treble Hall.

And what does this mean for the old sign. Previously I had heard there were plans to restore the sign but can/will/should this happen now that they've moved?

I think I would have been happier had the news been that Pizza Pizza was moving, allowing for the possible restoration of that part of Treble Hall.

AFAIK, Pagoda and Pizza Pizza are in the building on the corner, and Treble hall is the adjacent building to the north.

I'm guessing B&T is in reference to the Vietnamese /Chinese place on Cannon. I'm pretty sure the Jade Restaurant is owned by the same people anyway.

The building at the corner of King and John is owned by the dudes who have just reno'd Treble Hall (perhaps people already know that). It's a shame seeing the Pagoda go but maybe now it can be properly renovated.

The Pagoda actually extended into Treble Hall, including a big walk-in freezer.

Yeah, I wondered if the two buildings were connected inside.

Thanks for that.

The sign is still going to be restored, for some reason it belongs to the building owner, not the Pagoda owners.
When the building was open for a tour back in 2011 the building owner mentioned Pagoda was looking to downsize and the idea was to offer them one of the first floor storefronts as a takeout-only space. I don't think many patrons ventured up the stairs so it was probably surviving mostly on delivery orders anyway.

Anything affixed to a building is part of the building. That's always been the law.

I sent The George Hamilton Restaurant a message on Facebook, and got this response back:

Quote:
The George Hamilton is hoping to open in the next couple weeks.
I had noticed that their (now dead) twitter account was GHBrewery, so I asked if it was going to be a brew pub:

Quote:
It was originally going to be... Now it is going to be modern classic fine dining

But not too expensive for hamiltonians
That last line worries me.
