You got it right. This project is entirely within SF city and county limits, and it's one hell of a great example of neighborhood infill. Right at the Caltrain station!

I'm going to reserve judgement on 45 Lansing until it's done. There's so much more glass on the skyline something to differentiate one from another might be a welcome change of pace.

I needed a reminder on this one. it's somewhat paired with what's going on over on Henry Adams. some major blocks are being redone all at once in this area of SoMa, with the Flower Mart in discussions, and the block up the street from this at 8th and Harrison.

thanks for the confirmation, fflint. one of the great things about this one is the creation of what looks like a nice (walking) link between the T-Line and the Bayshore Caltrain station which was so unfortunately botched when the light rail originally went in. if an actual link can be accomplished with this project, the better.

Wow, great to hear this one is finally underway. It was such a drag to see that parking lot on a prominent Market Street corner.

Apparently, the latest plans eliminated underground parking, so the building should go up very quickly.

Massive shot for a huge excavation! This project has its own thread; can we move it there? http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...=173688&page=3

We got an update today already, and great pictures too, but I went on a stroll trying to learn the DSLR controls (so many options, agh!).

jury duty now sends me past this site regularly, so here are some 'before' shots of what is going away:

looking south at corner of 8th and Brannan:

7th and Brannan:

the 'back alley' that runs the entire length of the block from 8th to 7th between the Concourse and the Zynga building (on the right). looking from 8th St:

And it's mostly because of those giant solid white stripes on the western side...AKA the most visible side from within the city.
I couldn't agree with you more in all aspects! 350 Mission is becoming even more stunning as the crown glass is installed and the lobby takes its form. Jasper is like a bad dream that I have to look at everyday, except when the fog mercifully rolls in. It's atrocious when viewed from the west and mediocre from every other angle. Crescent Heights, Swedore and HKS Architects, and the city Planning Department should all hang there heads in shame.

Replace 45 Lansing with 350 Mission and it also would look very awkward and out of place. 350 looks great because it's shape and bulk fits into the canyon like surroundings. 45 Lansing is such a prominent hill top location, 350 would not fit well there.
They should have placed the Jeannie Gang tower there instead, but the current design isn't too bad. Not much thought though, which is unfortunate because so many towers in SF are turning out great and a lot to look forward too.
Loving all these pics.
399 Fremont is somewhat disappointing, I was hoping for solid blue glass and no stripes, like Lumina.
