I'm sure there is some place that can accommodate everyone. The lower limit would be if you have to ask your parent's permission to meet up with a bunch of people you don't know, in the big city.

Kids, always get your parents' permission but we've had high schoolers at previous meets.

We can tailor the event for all ages - a walk and lunch for everybody and then a later event for the 21+ crowd.

What is Ralph's? Is that the cafe in the CC?

It's been ages since there's been an official meetup of Philly forumers (a lot of you youngsters weren't around during the heady early 2000s).

Who would be amenable to having one to celebrate the topping off of our city's first supertall?
Already suggested. Great minds think alike!

Also, I will coordinate a Philly Skyscraper Fan meet-up at the bar. I hope you all can attend.

I organized a couple of meet-ups back in the early days of this website. The very early days.

You can count on it iheartphilly We won't do it opening week, for sure it will be super busy, but we'll shoot for it soon after that.

Of course if anyone can make it there opening week, go for it! Otherwise, wait for when we meet up
Prior to 2005, I used to post as "Philly-Rocks!". In early 2005, that account somehow became invalid. I think a change in the software around that time didn't like the "!" in my handle. That caused me to change to my current handle.

I don't even know where those early threads are. For example, where is the St James thread? It would be a blast to resurrect that as read-only, so that we can reminisce about the old days!

Apparently they did it to test the lights. Was driving through center city and noticed they were lit up and looked good. I missed or forgot that they were part of the lighting scheme, I took a quick pic will upload it later when I get a few minutes.

Eta pic, sorry it's not the best quality snapped real quick while on 76.

Correct, Ralph's is the cafe that straddles the 43rd and 44th floors.

I could be down for a happy hour/meet up as well. Can't believe how many under 21 that we have on this board. I think it's fantastic! The more youth enthusiasm for the city the better!

I wonder how many of us are old enough to have kids who are 21.

Now let's get rid of the blue tape of the horizontal braces.

I suggest the Skygarden for a meet up location at the old 'Bell Atlantic Tower' - Three Logan Square, 51st floor - for those of us 21+. There's a $5 cover now (was free last season), but the views are well worth it for those that haven't been.

Are you saying that the diagonal beams are part of the lighting scheme? If so that's awesome! It definitely didn't look like that in the original renderings.

As a 22 year old Drexel MechE student I would be happy to come along and throw a few back.

I was actually going to include grandkids (as one who is also old enough to have them ), but didn't want to alienate or freak out the youngsters too much.

Philly-Drew, your memory is way better than mine! I forgot all about posting that post.

PS: If we're planning a "get together", please let us know? I will have to find my ID for being under age. (Shut up Philly Fan)

You mean the one you stopped using back in the 1970s?
