Yeah, Shedd is way better. It's got so much that Adventure doesn't. The whole Oceanarium at Shedd with the Belugas was so fantastic. I didn't get to see the show (which we don't have in Camden), but I'm sure it's fantastic. And the view of Lake Michigan from the Oceanarium was fantastic. The Wild Reef was so beautiful and incredible, and the Amazon part was much of the same. The Caribbean Reef is the type of thing you want to see when you walk in. When I went, (early on Wednesday morning), the cafe with perfect skyline views was totally empty, so I got plenty of skyline viewing time. And the building is just so beautiful, both the old and new parts. The only downside is that it's $40 a person. It's also right at the Field Museum.
Fortunately, I know how to save a lot of money and did so with City Pass.
Adventure is also pretty good. Of course, the hippos are the only ones in an aquarium, and there are loads of sharks. I like the Ocean Realm Theater (pictured in your post) and the parts with the smaller fish. It's a good time, I like it. It's much more geared toward kids than Shedd is. Oh, and it's in Camden. I hate to say it, but that's a detracting element. I really do wish the best for Camden, but I really wish Adventure were in Philly. It should be on one of those unsightly piers on the PA side of the Delaware. It is, however, only $27 (and right by the Battleship New Jersey).
You know, I love aquariums, even if those are the only two I've ever been to. And despite that, one of the most beloved aquariums in America is only 90 miles southwest of me right now. The National Aquarium is also $40, but I'm sure I could find a discount and just go down there. Baltimore is rather underrated, if I do say so myself.
