Great lighting.

I just got back from Shanghai and this building is gorgeous! A few things, the cranes came down last week, it's sleek as hell. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of this, but a portion of the buildings "vein" or whatever you guys call it, was lit with what was essentially a loading bar blinking back and forth. It's so close! Here she was last week.

Pudong is so sci-fi. This further gives it that alien feeling.

Extraordinary. I'm not a big fan of how these buildings interact at street level but they are quite beautiful.

World's biggest Christmas ornaments, Shanghai Tower and Shanghai World Financial Center

This is a space ship not a tower! So wickedly cool.

Perhaps a little tacky and overdone.

I keep looking at the video and thinking. Wow, there's HD on the Shanghai Tower and then it's Atari 2600-land on SWFC.

They've been light-testing on the Shanghai Tower for the past couple of weeks. I went to check it out today.

It's a bit of a trip.

Ah man...i was hoping for classier lighting on this one. No offence but Alot of chinas cities have very LV gimicky lighting. Id like to see that change as time goes on.

Well, it is just in the testing phase. There's a lot of potential to do some cool stuff with the current set up. We'll have to see as time goes on.

Oh definately i just would hate to see the tower be lit in carnival or casino couture lighting. Nice soft blues, golds, whites thats how i want to see this tower represented as Chinas rising drago, not some tourist trap photo op. Class and elegance went into this towers design lets keep it that way.

Photos from Christmas day

Shanghai Tower can be easily seen from about 10 kilometres away in the Xuhui district.

I'm patiently waiting to see what the Shanghai Tower's lighting system is capable of once the testing is complete. So far, it ranges from tacky to incredible. Whatever the result, it stands now as the most insane lighting I've ever seen on a skyscraper.
