514 Eleventh Avenue (The Arch)

Saw this on Architizer this morning. It's an old project that I guess turned out to be the Mercedes House? I would have rather seen this.

About a third of it is parking. The building itself is not much.

It's not under construction... that's the site where it will soon be under construction.

Excellent. Can't wait for the first bonafide 100 floor tower of this boom to get going.

You got that right! My predictions is it will be the first of many. We need more market rate housing!

It's a box but I like boxes and the facade is pretty cool. Of course the height is nice too.

Bring it on...

I wonder if it's actually an 100+ story building or if it's just marketed as one?

Zapp,

We have no idea what this tower will look like.

Yeah. Its more of a mass model, but not an indication of what the final product will look like. Many units though and it will be a record for such a tower.

Ah okay... well I wouldn't mind if it did end up looking like that but it would be nice if it were more interesting.

I find a lot of NY supertalls (432 and Nordstrom are two primary examples) end up looking like their "massing models" though.

That's 2 buildings out if around 15 supertalls planned at the moment. Also, Nordstrom has a lot more setbacks, etc than its massing model.
