Poor little Toronto... stuck with construction of a 919' tower than many, many said would never get built at all... at any height.

I wonder how many 900'+ buildings are u/c in the country.

That's great news that the BOW has grown to 900' (...not... last time I looked it was 774 feet and 2.35 inches).

yup..236M.

Just a few meters taller than Ritz and B-A already under construction here in Toronto. They downsized the project due to shadowing, according the the Alberta forumers. But even at it's previous hieght I dont think it was 900ft anyway.

The "Festival Tower" is incredibly banal. Too bad since so many come to Toronto for the film festival, it would have been a great opportunity to showcase something new and exciting. Instead we get the typical box shaped Toronto tower. Disappointing.

I think this tower will turn out quite sharp. This isn't some cheap green piece of crap they're building.

Looking for a place in TO

Hi All,

I'm a native Calgarian, but am looking for a second residence in TO. Broadly speaking, I'm looking at condo developments inner-city Toronto. I am planning to be in the city this weekend, and was hoping to scope out some new and exciting developments

I have done very minimal research, and given the amount of inventory in the market, I was hoping to receive some help from the experts (i.e. you guys!) to narrow down my search. Of the research I have done, I have been most excited about developments by Freed Developments (www.freeddevelopments.com) -- projects such as 75 Portland, 66 Portland, 550 Wellington etc. I'm not interested in a lot of the "cookie cutter" high-rise developments (particularly along the waterfront) and am much more excited by loft-style (hard and soft lofts) buildings with character and style. I prefer mid-rise buildings, cool architecture and interior design, trendy neighborhoods, etc. etc. I'm in no urgent rush to move in, so pre-construction projects are fine with me.

Could you guys post me on what developments I should check out while in town?

I appreciate your help and apologies if this is the wrong forum to post in (if so please direct me to the correct forum). Thanks!
