FYI Edmonton has more buildings over 12 storeys than calgary...

Cross your fingers.
Much like the top ten, it's still all about the GTA with a smattering of Calgary and Vancouver...

I said inclusive , because of just Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver we get more Canadian cities included and more forumers included.

Even though...in the end it was still mainly Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.

.

Ok ok now I get it. Thank you

Information complied manually from Skyscraperpage.com
Manually sucks

Did you not try clicking on diagrams, set country to Canada and status to construction?

FYI, Calgary just surpassed Edmonton for completed over 12 storey buildings. (36-7 Calgary for those under construction)

To me the building is basically the Verve (Toronto) with beige instead of green, and dark grey instead of white.

No to drag this on, but I can't help this one. Would you rather have Edmonton's skyline or Calgary's? cause from the sounds of it you prefer Edmonton's (which seems kinda weird to me).

^i love the density of calgary's but honestly find Edmonton's much more balanced and given the river valley for more photogenic.

however, the quality and volume of recent projects in calgary does make me green with envy.

Some home town biases on this site are so funny. It's obvious that at some point in the last economic boom in Alberta that Calgary's skyline surpassed Edmonton's in style, height, balance, and scale. Their really is no question about it. And if Edmonton's was so photogenic, why do I have a tough time picturing it without googling it? I mean if I saw a picture of it I'd know what city I'm looking at, but if somebody asked me to make a simple sketch I wouldn't know where to begin. Calgary on the other hand I could get most of it right.

Sorry for perpetuating this argument, when I get home I'll try and ad something a bit more constructive.

It just seems small town compared to Calgary. And each year the gap gets greater and greater. Actually it reminds me a lot of North Yorks Skyline.

Funny, an Edmonton /Calgary Rivalry? Now there's a new one!

It's part of our heritage. No matter what, Edmonton is better than Calgary, in every aspect, simply because I'm from Edmonton. They teach this in schools here.

And visa versa, if I was from Calgary...

But it's an intimate feud. Only those who enjoy S&M would understand. And in this case, calgary is our bitch.

These arguments are a part of Canadian history. Your watching a longstanding tradition carry out here folks. Admission should be charged!

without turning this into an off-topic...the shear length of the skyline is ridiculous and almost impossible to capture in a decent shot....

It's not that Edmonton is small time, it's just that Calgary's skyline is that of a city 5x the size, we are just so big time (not to get cocky, but it is true) we make Edmonton look small, when in fact it has a skyline of a city 2-3x it's size.

My God, this thread is flooded with testosterone.

I'm really surprised how close that Montreal tower is being built to its neighbour.
