Eventually they could put an elevated Skytrain line in, take out 2 car lanes, then widen the sidewalk.

With Skytrain already existing only a block or two to the south and serving essentially the same corridor, I really don’t see that happening.

I could see one of the four east bound lanes being removed, along with street side parking on both sides, with the remaining 6 lanes becoming 2 bus lanes and 4 regular traffic.

It's nothing compared to Vancouver's suburbs, but here is the modest and geriatric skyline of Montréal-Nord, captured from Laval, today.

Burquitlam skyline developing - this is the view from Lougheed Heights, a 3 tower development. The one under construction is capital, the cranes are for the 49 storey 567 como + clarke

To the bottom left will be the 38 storey Meridian and the 50 storey highpoint, both of which are getting ready to startup soon.

I count 12 distinct and meaningful skylines:

Vancouver
North Vancouver
West Vancouver
Brentwood
Metrotown
Edmonds
New Westminster
Richmond
Surrey
Lougheed
Burquitlam
Coquitlam

Here is the latest rendering for Coquitlam Centre Mall:

New Westminster kind of has two skylines. The one along the river and the other higher up on the hill.

Also would you consider the Broadway skyline to be separate from downtown?

Then, depending on where you draw the line between meaningful, there is also Ioco skyline, Kerrisdale (which is quite prominent from YVR), the essentially new Marine Station area skyline, UBC, etc...

There are so many pockets of towers throughout metro Vancouver now that it is getting difficult to draw a line between what is a skyline and what isn’t (especially given some of the suburban “skyline” images shared on this thread from other cities).

Beautiful. I love seeing the densification of the Skytrain expo corridor.
