The first shot? You must be kidding. It looks totally like the quintessential American Great Plains city.

That horrible building in the third shot though would indeed be at home in Rotterdam or Hamburg.

Yeah I don't know what I was thinking when I first looked at it, something about the angle and that corner made me perceive it differently. And I definitely wasn't thinking high-end, historic European street there. Should have clarified that.

I was thinking Rotterdam with the third as well.

Bit of a dreary little day in Edmonton today. Spot the arena if you can!

It's a current rail station and transit hub. Waterfront Station, one of two operating historic rail stations in Vancouver, the other being Pacific Central Station. Waterfront is the rapid transit hub of Metro Vancouver, being the hub of all three Skytrain lines, the West Coast Express commuter rail, and the SeaBus.

Amazing Gastown photos, Prometheus!

This is pretty cool and awesome-like. Never mind the fact that Vancouver is mostly really, really awful at street-level among the towers, but conversely really, really cool on the low-slung commercial streets on the east side of the high-rise district...this shot among the towers is really, really cool.

I like these vantage points. The old and the new. What city in Canada does it better than Montreal? None. Montreal punches above its weight in layers. Woot!
