hkskyline's 2010 JEONJU Photo Collection

A Day Trip From Seoul - Jeonju has over 1200 years of history and became the capital of the Baekje Dynasty in around AD 900. The Hanok Village has over 800 traditional Korean houses, where visitors can experience traditional Korean life and foods.

A small hill above the Hanok Village provides a panoramic view of the sea of traditional rooftops.

The Hanok Village is primarily laid out in grid format, but in certain parts, the grid is criss-crossed by numerous winding alleys.

Jeondong Cathedral was built in 1914 with a red brick wall and bell tower.

Gyeonggijeon Shrine was built in 1410 but remodeled in 1614 after damage from invading forces. Many portraits of kings are on display.

Jeonju looks beautiful. Korea has such rich history, tradition, and heritage sites. I have to visit sometime.

It is nice to see this preservation amongst the bigger city. Great photos, thanks!

There are still many alleys of these traditional homes. They appear renovated and in good condition.
