The Dennis Building is horrible inside. It has been subjected to a series of govt renovations over they years so there is nothing historic left inside, just drywall and cheap low-bid stuff. Everything seems undersized and cramped.

Thanks for the update SekishikiMeikaiHa. The only progress from the Feb 8th picture that I can see is that the concrete has been poured around the reinforcing steel in the columns and they have reinforcing bar around the old wall of the tower. Hopefully the progress will accelerate soon once the groundwork is done.

One question comes to mind when I see the pictures: they will have to remove the exterior panels from the blank wall as they go up, so I wonder how they will keep the current tenants protected (possibly temporary woodwork?) without too much disruption of business.

It will be interesting to see how they handle the reclad and how they integrate the new structure in with the original. I guess they will be doing the cladding for individual floors in stages once the new structure is complete at a given level..?

I was wondering the same thing regarding the cladding.

I seem to recall that they were going to vacate some of the lower floors during construction and I would assume once those floors are complete will move people around within the building to vacate other floors. Any one else remember hearing this?

I remember reading that as well. There was one company mentioned, if my memory serves correct, moving from the 16th floor to the 4th floor after they were finished on that floor, on the way up.

Thank you for the street-view shot. I have been checking it periodically from the webcam - http://tdcentrehalifax.ca/

I have noticed that the night time images of the TD tower show quite a bit of detail since the site is well lit at night. They are currently working on the second floor columns.

Comparing the image with past images taken by SekishikiMeikaiHa I can see that they are removing the exterior cladding as they move upwards.

It is good to see this rising.

On the TD Centre Halifax website there is an interesting description of photovoltaic glass awnings to be installed on the tower - http://tdcentrehalifax.ca/wp-content...n-PV-glass.pdf (source: http://tdcentrehalifax.ca/design-features/)
