Wow, the end of an era! They did mention on the Jane's Walk that the permit was set to expire shortly.

I will take it off the list. Perhaps I'll leave it as a base?

It would be. Sad to see it come down, I always had a little hope that it would move ahead someday as long as the crane was still there.
Here's a picture from my balcony.

I'm wondering if the Riverside Quays potain will come down? As far as I can tell they are using a smaller portable crane to put up the walls for phase II.

There is a new crane up at the affordable housing site at Manchester which was erected up earlier this week. Visible from the LRT going past chinook.

You can take the crane at Astoria off the list as well. It is currently being taken down.

Thats probably were the huge Stampede crane that just rolled down 12th ave probably came from. I'm surprised, since Astoria sounded like they were going to be back U/C this summer.

You're not going to believe this but I believe that Stampede crane truck got into an accident with a vehicle on southbound Macleod just after the Elbow river. There are a couple of cars off to the side with the Stampede truck stopped a little farther south, traffic is down to one lane getting through with the cops on scene and HAWCS currently orbiting overhead.

Edit: They have actually blocked ALL southbound lanes of Macleod and have traffic making that u-turn back onto northbound. I hope there wasn't a fatality.

Substantial parts of a tower crane just rolled west on 10th Ave. This early in a weekend it must be a setup.... Oslo perhaps? They were working on the site with a mobile one in the last couple days...

Let's keep our eyes on the Oslo site, you are probably right about it!

I had lunch a block away from Oslo (at Ruan Thai) yesterday and a mobile crane was at Oslo. So very likely, yeah.

Nope, but they are pouring concrete today and have most of 11th blocked off.

The crane is going up at Luna.

Yup, I saw the mobile crane on 12th avenue for Luna, thought I saw one on 11th avenue but that must have been the boom arm of a concrete pumper.

I will add Luna to the count.

That's exactly what you saw. The crane can't be far off though.
