As long as were making photo comps, I dropped a few things into Rochester's skyline...enjoy!

Don't destroy my childhood!!! At this spot 20+ years ago I would enjoy the monorail and eat Bill Gray's.

F*ck you, Bill Johnson.

As much as a I hate to see it go, it must for the survival of Downtown. Yeah I agree Johnson was a terrible mayor.

Johnson had nothing to do with this development. I grew up going to Midtown as well, but lets face it, the place is a pit of despair. Cities have to move forward. Architecturally it is not worth saving and the monorail and the clock can be placed at the Strong Museum. This is the best move forward and I have yet to see any rational reason put forward by anyone around town.

Does anyone know if this is factual?

Strong Museum has the best children's museum anywhere.

The media has been pushing them to take it by saying Strong will most likely take them but Strong has said nothing in writing yet...

Midtown Plaza sees the end of its last Christmas
(January 5, 2008) — As the Midtown Plaza Christmas tree was being cut down branch by branch and the decorative cotton snow was being packed away into boxes Friday, Kathy Trotta approached the workers and asked for a souvenir.

Other news if you read it... "Adding to the upcoming developments, and already fit into the charrette's vision, is ESL Federal Credit Union's plan to build a six-story, $50 million headquarters at 225 Chestnut St."

http://www.democratandchronicle.com/...0335/1002/NEWS

Very interesting? Another highrise?

Other comments if you look to the upper left you can a tower dominating the Xerox tower... and I mean absolutely huge. Now Arunas Chesonis was just interviewed again and he said sarcasticly that some of his employees want a really tall skyscraper without turning it down. He said nothing about the max being taller than 35 stories. Also he said he would love it to be what the Rochester skyline is known for...

I think I heard that plans for PAETEC's tower will be announced in June...While I really hope they do something creative and tall, I hope it'll fit into the existing skyline. Right now, I think Rochester has a very attractive, if not huge, skyline. Very symmetrical and pleasing to the eye.

I would love for the PAETEC building to be Rochester's new tallest. Take over from Rochester's past (Xerox building, B&L building) to Rochester's future. I think the Xerox building's about thirty stories, so if PAETEC decides to build 35, like the CEO has suggested, it would likely be ROC's new tallest.

Coupled with the news for the ESL headquarters in a section of downtown that was devastated by Urban Renewal decades ago, the Eastman School expansion, and explosion of housing units downtown, things are looking pretty bright for our center city.

I still would love to see Wegmans, Paychex, even Constellation Brands (even though I think they just moved into Perinton) move downtown and continue this great trend. Good work, Mayor Duffy.
