Lord, there are so many cities, I'd have a hard time picking a favorite.

Plus there are so many other cities I haven't even seen yet ...

First I should give an overview where I have been, because I haven't yet seen some major european cities like Paris or Madrid.

Out of those: Hamburg (my hometown), Berlin, Hanover, Kiel, Bremen, Enschede, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, London, Copenhagen, Warsaw, Prague, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Venice, Padova, Palermo, Istanbul, Valencia, Barcelona

I would put those cities into my top 3 (in order):

1. Ljubljana
2. Hamburg/ Barcelona
3. Valencia/ Prague/ Berlin

dublin. handsdown. It's large, but low. It is getting higher developments though.

Edit:

Dublin's "Skyline"

Tallest Current building:

Proposed, in the DUblin Docklands, a new Condo/buisness development:

Dublin's rising though, with the fastest growing economy in the EU, know as the Celtic tiger:

I'll vote for some smaller, lesser-known gems with lots of charm and history:

1. Valletta, Malta
2. Salzburg, Austria
3. Lecce, Italy
4. Trier, Germany
5. Bath, England

It depends what's implied by "favourite" (architecture or lifestyle ?)

I will then make two rankings

First, the most beautiful European cities according to me :
1. Rome
2. Paris
3. Vienna
4. Prague
5. Stockholm

Second, the cities I'd like to live in :
1. London
2. Paris
3. Madrid
4. Prague
5. Dublin

Barcelona!!of course!! For my is the best in Europe and in the world!! I think is the city that gives you the best offer in services, culture and leisure time.
others: Paris maybe the most romantic and London maybe the most cosmopolitan.
