Yes, they were doing interior demo on Friday. I took this pic on Sunday. I assume they weren't working because of the holiday.

two pieces of heavy equipment for one 2 story building, looks like a bit of over kill to me! Glad to see something happening on this site. Is the parking lot at 20th and Samsom closed?

That's encouraging. Might be able to squeeze the zoning bill past council before the summer recess. Still no word of a public meeting with the CCRA, which I am assuming will still need to take place before the CDR meeting. That assumes the ongoing discussions held with a CCRA endorsed panel of representatives do not satisfy the requirement for an RCO meeting before presenting at CDR.

Even thought the latest version is 50 feet shorter than the tallest iteration, I think the design is superior. Build it.

Great seeing progress on this after many months of stagnation. Also we have to give credit to Downey, his team came up with a solution which is keeping 2 of 3 historic buildings and was able to incorporate feedback from neighborhood groups / planning commission and still potentially deliver an great addition to the skyline. Not a small feat when people with deep pockets are opposed to this proposal. If this comes to fruition, hope Downey will see more areas in Phila. to develop.

The first rendering, specifically the one with the yellow colored brick on Sansom Street was my favorite. I'm so sick of red brick. Nevertheless, the changes are pretty minor and I think this is still a great building.

Question - in neither the zoning agenda or the PlanPhilly article, I do not see any reference to the height. How do you know that this rendering is 50 feet shorter? What is the new height?

I personally think that SLC buckled too quickly. They are now dedicating space in the building to low income in addition to preserving two of three buildings and on top of all that - they lowered the building height? I want a taller building but my greater concern - will these concessions still make this plan profitable enough to gain financing and move forward? For everything that SLC caved on, they should held firm on the building height.

Is this really the FINAL rendering?
I'm sorry for sounding a little negative, but there's been so many renderings, that I forgot which is which.
If this is the final rendering, then I follow PHL10's thought. BUILD IT!
Do you know what the final height (in feet) would be?

50' shorter , what the fuck . Why shorter , how about 50' taller .
I guess this will just have to be added to the really long list of incredible
shrinking skyscrapers proposed in this city .

The rendering I posted is the one included in the article. When this rendering was released initially (a few months ago?), I believe it was said to be 565', which is down from the original ~600ft. I believe it was summers that updated the height in the title of this thread to the latest height. (Sorry if I caused panic that the height was further reduced.)

Anything above 400ft for this neighborhood and our skyline is significant. So, the "reported" 565' is still very respectable.
