The Ottawa River has everything from rapids, to islands, to bays the size of lakes, and almost all of the riverfront is public land. I haven't explored all of it yet.

Yes, they're along the river on both sides. There is more that I didn't include here as well. This was originally a lumber town and there are still some paper mills operating, along with some hydroelectric power stations.
