a few minutes ago as I was driving to work I was looking at it from the Route 1 & 352 interchange in Media PA, today was particularly clear & I can tell you that the cladding on the lantern has finally made it stand out very clearly. In my view CTC completely dominates the skyline at this point & draws the eye directly to the top. Now this is during the day so I can only imagine how much more effective it will be at night when lit up, cannot wait to see that.

Totally. From anywhere west, this building is going to completely dominate. TCO posted this in the Riverwalk thread but it gives a great sense of scale.

Almost certainly. Would be great for us and increase our international profile. I’d also love to watch EPL games on NBC.

Probably just increased travel between Philly and a few European cities, mostly London. Sky gives Comcast an improved international reach, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they need more workers in Philly.

They need to spread out the glass scrapers instead of putting them all in one confined area!

Nothing looks better like glass rising amongst granite or bricks and vice versa.just my opinion but so far its looking great.

Philly top 10 and climbing

The tall buildings are all clustered in that area because it was the site of the Pennsylvania Railroad's Broad Street station and associated viaduct. That land became available for development in the 1960s when those structures were demolished. We will never see any buildings of significant height east of 7th Street because of the historic district.

In the future we will almost certainly see more tall glass buildings over by 30th Street station which has some visual separation because of the river. We may also see some tall buildings pop up immediately east of City Hall but so far nothing over 500 feet has been proposed.

In certain respects, it almost follows the PSFS design.

Should be visible from the PA Turnpike crossing into Jersey.

No, he is referring to CTC. They do have a very similar structure:

Yes, the core is off center, at the rear. This allows daylight to penetrate all the way through the occupied floors and gives great views.

Brilliant observation regarding the PSFS likeness. Now I see it.

In reality The core is more centered than it would seem based on the finished product. I remember being a little surprised thhat it was rising in the middle rather than what we’re calling the “spine” with the glass elevators.

This is alittle off base, but looking at the great photo of PSFS made me realize that there's a half floor stuck in there. Free trips to NJ?

You can see how the W hotel and CTC will have an impact on the skyline from points due east of the city.

From my view, it looks like all of the cladding for the spire is in place now.
