Some new billboards are going up at each of the corners on the block.
The shapes are interesting in that they get taller and taller towards the
middle where the center is has a curve at the top. There is nothing printed
on the boards right now, but from the looks of it, it’s going to be quite a presentation.

The site looks handsome… cleaned up and everything. I hope to post some pics soon.

Nice scoop innov8. Hope they're not just billboards of random ads for beer and home shows.

I saw it myself and it kindof looked like a skyline! I could be wrong because I was just driving by; but, I swear I saw a dome. So, it may just be like a mural/painting of Capitol Mall until something is decided upon.

Yah, no way it is related to the site.

I think your right guys, a mural of some sort to liven up the corners. The rest
of the fence around the site is that green stuff you see in the photos below.
When I first saw the billboards going up with the highest point in the middle,
I was thinking that might be where the new tower or towers will be featured.
I guess will have to wait and see

Wow, looks like they did a good bit of work beyond just cleaning up the site. If I didn't know better I would tend to believe they were getting ready for more than just sealing up the piles. I didn't know that pretty much all the piles were driven.

I vote for it being a temporary mural -looks like the outline of the state capitol to me.

Anyways, it's a pleasant surprise to see how much they've cleaned up this site, thanks for the update!

Whatever they intend to do, it's obvious they're doing their best to preserve the piles. (Which might bode well for a furture twin tower proposal....?)

That's a good point. And going with that idea, I can't imagine a new propsal
that didn't take advantage of all that work. Though I bet it would be tough
on the design end of the project - to have to work within the footprint of the
former proposal.

I also can't imagine that CIM/CalPERS could leave any of those piles exposed.
So if it were a two tower propsal, I wouldn't think the towers could be phased.

Whatever they do...I have a sneaking suspicion that the twin towers will be.....400ft tall.

Yeah unfortunately i think you're right..

I think Sacramento's case of lawnmower skyline will continue well into the next decade.
