oops... meant to say that the dark finish aligns with adjacent building height(s), so again not a random arrangement.

Does it? I will have to go back and look at it again. If it at least lines up with the adjacent buildings heights, then I am okay with that. I am just against doing something design wise for no real reason. Even the Dumbbell building on Burnside needed to incorporate roses into the design to give it some purpose.

A building permit was issued for the renovation of the historic Hotel Chamberlain building. I'll be very happy to see that building restored.

I don't know if / when the adjacent new construction will move forward; it hasn't been submitted for building permit review yet.

Updated Drawings for 550 MLK. Lots of changes to the design, unsure how I feel...

Very interesting. Previously this was a Beam/UDC collaboration with WPA. I worked on that portion of the project, and had heard rumblings of WPA being let go. Apparently they were more than rumblings as SRG is now the architect.

Beam does not show this on their website anymore, and UDP has only images from WPA's work so I'm guessing they may be out, as well.

Wow. I really wasn't a fan of the previous design, but they somehow managed to make it so much worse.

Is it residential now? It looks like they are starting from scratch.
