It is unfortunate since many pubs were open to kids before the phased in smoking bylaw started. Very slow reversing the process for sure now that there isn't a law against minors.

Unfortunate? I find it a blessing as I don't think kids should be allowed in pubs. There's enough places for families to take their kids to already. Let us, who chose not to spawn, enjoy a nice pint in peace.

Here's some video proof on why kids should not be allowed in drinking establishments.

The Spillery has new owners. I'm not sure if they are keeping the name that I came up with or what changes they will make. Hopefully the food improves, the quality has been erratic.

+1. Not as good as it was with owners in the past, but still consistently good.

I agree. I had a lasagna there for lunch recently -- not nearly as good as it used to be back when it was Paul's.

Did it taste like an ashtray? Due to some of my experiences and some my neighbours have had, I've stopped eating there over a year ago. I hope the old owners of George's bought it. That place had some of the best steaks in town.

I haven't been to their new place, but Paul's steaks and pizza are popular in Airdrie.

It just wasn't as cheesy and the sauce didn't seem as tasty as it had been in the past...

re: Spillery.

Ditto.

The actual quality of the pizzas has continued to be good for me but my orders have consistently been wrong, unnecessarily delayed and arbitrarily priced. The same pizza I ordered for the last 3 years jumped $4 the last time I was in (note, the menu prices had not changed).

They really need to get their act together - I really crave that pizza but it is so hit and miss if I get what I order.

Grabbed a pizza from wopizza.com. tonight. I'd have to say it was average at best. The toppings were good, the thin crust was bit burnt on one side, but it wasn't bad. The sauce was blander than bland. I couldn't even really taste it. It's a shame as I really had high hopes for this place.

Yes. I don't where in Airdrie but I could find out - somewhere between Superstore and Wal*Mart is my guess.
(that was a city slicker joke making fun of the fact there is nothing between those stores in Airdrie except the whole town)
