The Columbia River drainage basin includes territory in seven U.S. states and one Canadian province. It covers nearly all of Idaho, large portions of British Columbia, Oregon, and Washington, ultimately all of Montana west of the Continental Divide, and small portions of Wyoming, Utah, and Nevada; the total area is similar to the size of France.

The Columbia River was given the name it bears today in May 1792, by American Captain Robert Gray, after his ship, the Columbia Rediviva.

its not really a city fact more like cities because theres many cities on all the rivers that go into the river and the river its self

Austin has the largest urban bat colony in the country.

The San Antonio Metro has the largest cave dwelling bat colony in the country.

Paramus, New Jersey. One of the most famous alien abduction events occurred here when outer worldly beings disguised a UFO to resemble a Holiday Inn.

Montreal
1. We have the worlds largest underground city (32Km^2 of paths)
2. No building can be built higher than mount royal (233M above sea level).
3. 120+ major festivals, including multiple worlds largest (hence we get called the city of festivals)
4. The U.N was close to moving their headquarters here in 2006/07
5. MTL has over 200 ethnic groups
6. We're the 8th largest city in N.A by municipality.

A few other Winnipeg facts
-slurpee capital of the world 19 years running (for one of the anniversaries a 711 litre slurpee was briefly erected in the city)
-first city in North America to use a central emergency number, originally 999, then 911
-the name means "muddy water" in Cree
-the Red River Floodway that surrounds the city was the second largest earth-moving project in history after the Panama Canal
-largest urban Indigenous population in Canada and second largest in North America after NYC
-it gets very cold and very hot (as far as I can remember coldest in my lifetime is -54 with windchill and hottest +53 with humidex)
-the Mint in Winnipeg makes money for about 75 countries

Tel Aviv has more sushi restaurants per capita than any other city except NY and Tokyo.

And I'm pretty sure Philly has more cheesesteak joints per capita than any other city in the world.

The oldest stock exchange in the US is the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, not that one on Wall Street.

Highly highly suspect. I sincerely doubt that Tel Aviv or NYC have more sushi restaurants than LA.

Montreal island is also the world's most highly populated island that lies in fresh water.

For Kansas City, MO, it's claimed to have the world's largest underground storage facility, "SubTropolis". It has 7 miles of paved roads.

Pittsburgh supposedly has more bridges than any other city in the world, at 446.

The first World Series was played here in 1903 between the Pirates and the Boston Americans.

The polio vaccine was created in Pittsburgh in 1950.

Pittsburgh has more bars than any other city in America per capita.

The Seven Years War aka the French and Indian War started just south of Pittsburgh at Jumonville Glen in 1754 because George Washington done messed stuff up.

Also, the Big Mac was created in Pittsburgh.
