Anyone know what’s happening with the Wynn/Alon project now that Steve Wynn is gone?

I am beginning to seriously doubt that Resort World will be completed within 5 years...

By Todd Prince
July 16th 2018

Caesars Entertainment Corp. broke ground Monday on a $375 million conference center near the Strip as its seeks to grab a larger slice of the city’s lucrative business tourism pie.

The 550,000-square-foot Caesars Forum will be located behind the LINQ, Harrah’s and Flamingo and connect with them via walkways.

The convention center will be completed in 2020 and feature 300,000 square feet of sellable meeting space and a 100,000-square-foot outdoor plaza suitable for receptions or break space.

Construction of $935.1M Las Vegas Convention Center Starting

Quote:
By Richard N Velotta
Sept. 11th. 2018

The last puzzle pieces for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s $935.1 million expansion fell into place Tuesday and construction equipment should begin moving into place on the site within days.

The LVCVA’s board of directors approved a guaranteed maximum price of $758.1 million on a 1.4 million-square-foot building that will include 600,000 square feet of new exhibition space at the northwest corner of Paradise Road and Convention Center Drive.

The LVCVA is counting on a completion of the new exhibition hall by Dec. 1, 2020, in order to prepare for the arrival of CES 2021. The contract with Turner Martin-Harris includes $34 million in contingencies.

Work begins on 18,000-seat MSG Sphere at The Venetian

Las Vegas Review-Journal
September 27, 2018 - 9:38 pm

Two major entertainment brands began work Thursday on changing the face of live performance — and the Las Vegas skyline — with a ceremonial groundbreaking for the 18,000-seat MSG Sphere at The Venetian.

The Sphere is a collaboration by Madison Square Garden and Las Vegas Sands, operator of The Venetian and Palazzo and the Sands Expo &Convention Center, just west of the construction site.

The companies have not disclosed the cost of the project, a spherical first-of-its-kind performance venue with high-tech video screens inside and out and sound capabilities unlike anything ever developed in the world.

The companies said Thursday the facility would open in the 2021 fiscal year.

Those cranes are only for the Venetian pool remodel. No word yet on a restart of the St. Regis

Glad to see Resort World is going full steam ahead. Do anybody know who owns that plot of land between the Wynn and the convention center? I would love to see a developer come in, level all of that space and put another themed casino. Maybe London themed? Would be a good fit right there.

Which plot of land are you talking about?

The golf course is owned by Wynn.

The green area is owned and occupied by many properties, apartments, businesses, etc.

Same with the Blue, although it's a bit more open.

The red area (much of which was formerly the Riviera) is owned by the Convention Center and expansion is currently under way.

^^^ Was referring to the green. I assumed the red and the blue were one in the same, for the convention center, but seeing how the blue isn't attached, someone needs to come in and buy up all the green and blue space and create a new hotel.

The green area along Paradise Road won't be touched due to the all the Marriott hotels and condo tower situated there. But with its proximity to the expansion of the Convention Center, I could definitely see a developer coming in and trying to purchase the rest of that land. But it's always complicated when you're dealing with so many property owners.

I believe it was the Las Vegas Club, plus Glitter Gulch and Mermaids.
