What's crazy is that once this and Oceanwide Plaza both officially get underway, we'll have 4 buildings over 600 ft. under construction at the same time (Wilshire Grand, Metropolis Tower 4, Oceanwide Tower 1, 820 Olive). That hasn't happened since 1990 when US Bank Tower, Figueroa @ Wilshire, 777 Figueroa and 2 Cal Plaza all may have been under some level of construction at the same time. And would only be the 2nd time in the history of Los Angeles. Considering LA only has 13 buildings over 600 ft. (not counting Wilshire Grand), we're witnessing the second-biggest simultaneous change in the LA skyline ever.
