On Manitoulin Island, Lake Manitou is the largest lake on an island in the world (104 sq KM), and Lake Mindemoya's Treasure Island is the largest island in a lake on an island in a lake in the world.

Ontario (I would assume) has the longest fresh water coastline on the planet. The place basically has a North, South, East, and West coast when ur in the eastern half of the province. Even Northern Ontario have North and South Coasts.

It's my understanding that the two longest white-sand fresh water beaches in the world are in the Muskoka area.

Self correction: Wasaga Beach (Simcoe County) is the longest freshwater beach in the world (14 km) and it happens to be white sand.

Sauble Beach (Bruce County) is the second longest freshwater beach in the world (11 km) and it also happens to be white sand. A unique phenomenon of sandbar deposits building out along the Huron shore keep the water at the shore of the beach very shallow and warm.

Great island pics!
I'm hoping to make it to Savary Island this summer. 5 miles of sandy beaches and warm water.
I would love to go to Haida Gwaii, Manitoulin, Magdalene, and Anticosti.
And go back to Cortes, Montreal, PEI, Cape Breton, and Newfoundland.

I think the state of Michigan claims that title, by a considerable margin.

There used to be a hotel, amusement park, and a baseball stadium there. Hanlan's Point Stadium was where the Toronto Maple Leaf baseball team played. In 1914, Babe Ruth hit his first professional home run into the waters of Lake Ontario from this stadium.

Rimouski has two islands facing it on the Saint Lawrence River: the small Ilet Canuel and the larger Ile Saint-Barnabé.

Wow, now that is sweet! I wish it was still around.

Me too. I wish Hanlan's Stadium's replacement, Maple Leaf Stadium, was still around too. If they had the vision to preserve it, Toronto would have its own Fenway Park today. Sadly, they just tore it down.... and we're still tearing stuff like this down. Varsity Stadium? The Concourse Building? Seems like people never learn.

Yeah. I wish they had rebuilt Palace Pier too. Toronto loves destroying awesome amusement parks/tourist attractions.

Right, IIRC it's one of the state's mottos, or it's in some of their tourist ad lines at least. I know I've heard it at least a few times...

Oh really? Weird. Well Ontario is 2nd I'm sure, and has much nicer beaches apparently.
