so just checking, this building will break 800 feet right? 751 is apparently the top occupied floor figure.

It's in DOB as 716, which is usually the full building height, so I don't see it making 800. Not sure where the 751 number is from, but it's possible that DOB has highest occupied, and 751 includes the large lit cube on top.

It's 751 with the lit cube.

Ok that's what I thought, though someone had said it was 751 to the top floor.

751 is the last height NYC needs though, there are faaar too many buildings of exactly that size.

Wow what a contrast. Who ever asks the difference between office and residential construction, bring them to this thread or 250 W. 55 St thread. Pictures speak louder than words.

250 W 55th: Steel
1715 Broadway: Concrete
Both: Right next to each other (being constructed AT THE SAME TIME)

DOB measures to top of occupied floor, not full structural building height.

This building is 753 ft. to full structural height. I don't know why it's listed at 751.

There are actually three buildings u/c on the same block.

There's a 34-floor hotel u/c between the two buildings.

I thought it was listed as 753 on DOB.

My mistake.

I know what you mean, there are about 20(!) towers in NY between 700 and 750ft.
And soon to join this year: 250 East 57th Street 715ft; 50 West Street 714ft; 610 Lexington Avenue 712ft. Man, NY will have a sea of 700 footers...

From CTBUH: Courtyard and Residence Inn Manhattan/Central Park

Height: Architectural 229.5 meter / 753 feet
Height: To Tip 229.5 meter / 753 feet
Floors Above Ground 68
# of Hotel Rooms 639

Looks like Robert had his facts wrong, oh well, it will still be a nice addition to the skyline, plus if the top os lit up that will be amazing.

You're talking about the one between 250 w55* and this, right?

That's 237 w54.

The only other construction project underway on this short block is 237 West 54th Street, a supposed hotel for Joseph Moinian, originally listed as 27 floors. After acquiring additional air rights from the Booth Theater (which also provided air rights for 250 West 55th Street), it was supposed to go to 34 floors (half that of the Marriott rising at 1715 Broadway), but I've not yet seen a confirmation that the other floors were okayed.
