You're basically correct RCDC. All of those things, combined with the fact that Yellowknife is the capital, and only city in the Northwest Territories. This means that all goverment buildings are located here. The rest of the Territory is either uninhabited, or extremely sparsely inhabited by a few very small towns, and comunities of usually less than 100 people. The entire population of the NWT is only 60,000, with a third of that residing in Yellowknife. The other main reason for the density is the unavailability of land, due to 100% of the surrounding land being locked up in aboriginal land claims.

...and yes diskojoe, if you become an ice cube, I'll warm you back up Actually -37 isn't that bad...Friday it was -46, and that's without the wind chill

I'm always fascinated by Yellowknife. It is such an anomaly in terms of skyline to pop. ratio.
