dougall, that second pic you posted, underneath the Belmont Lofts, what building is that? I can't think of it for the life of me...

me too! I always have. What are sq.ft. prices like in Portland? gimme a general range for getting into a new condo... 1+den to 2 bdrm. 700-900 sq.ft.?

EDIT: ignore this. I just found rmls (i'm use to mls.ca....)

A few examples in Halifax:











Some of the buildings above are fine but in general I prefer modern looking buildings. Faux Victorians never quite look right because of the different building materials and some design requirements of newer buildings (people want garages and don't like 50 square foot bedrooms, for example).

Most of this is looking really really good. And mostly in styles that are pretty far from the stuff getting built here (not that the good ones here aren't good, just different).

A few pics of two infills on the fringes of the Inner City in Sthlm:

just finnishing up, used to be parking lot for a hospital iirc
