True that, but X and Casa have simple designs that are much classier. I wish the city would demand better design for height. Especially down at the waterfront.

Why are all the nice towers north of the core, while the waterfront keeps getting all the crap. I know you like Success, but that beast should be in Mississauga, not front and centre in Toronto.
You must be blind. Theres nothing wrong with success, its just about everything else around it thats the problem.

What, did someone poke out the middle of your eyeball? Success is just as bad as everything around it.

Only if you compare renderings. X could turn out to be a window wall disaster and Casa's hat and parkade podium could still ruin it.

Murano is one of the best to come out of this boom and it's public art contribution greatly contributes to its design and the public realm around it. Fingers crossed!

I'm sorry (excluding "X" right now) in rendering and u/c form Casa is turning out much better then the suburban monster at Harbourfront.

I will agree that Murano is turning out nice.

Andrew and Coldrx you guys don't understand about Success......

Success is when you break up the squat concrete bunkers down at harbour with a tall and elegant glass and pre-cast tower. - It soars above all the other condos below and it brings a focal point to an area in which all the previous towers were capped at 40 stories so... they bascially look like one giant wall when viewed from the lake.

Success...when teamed up with, MLS, ICE, Telus, and 18 York will provide some relief from the concrete..create focal points with hieght and break up the nasty brown with sleek slim glass......

This type of Success is the Pinnacle...of HARDCORE!!

I will say this, it has turned out much better then it's render. I do get that it breaks the wall up on the waterfront, I don't agree it's sleek and sexy though. Regardless of how you use it Precast is a four letter word most of the time.

I like the way the pre-cast is working on Pinnacle....

It looks like a racing stripe going up the glass. (very nice!)

... or perhaps a vertical bar of how 'success'ful they were at convincing people it is sexy or hot or amazing.

knock off 15 floors and we'd probably all agree ... unless Caltrane's the type to put racing stripes on a Chevy Cavalier

Nonetheless, here's where Casa's at today. Currently at work on the 31st floor.

I forgot to check up-close in-person, but it looks as though they've gotten rid of the dead tree that was in the centre of the property... Also, a question for those in the neighbourhood: Walking down Charles today I suddenly noticed how sparse the trees seemed. Maybe it's just because it's winter, but were any other trees removed in the past while (like near the post office on the north side?)

Thanks for the updated pictures of ARrivva BigTime.....

Will that tower have an LED light show too?

OMG!

Yes, 15 floors shorter and the building would not look as good.

Agreed!

But you have to take into account that if the building was 15 floors shorter it wouldn't stand out at all. As all the other buildings in the area were previously capped at 40 floors.

That's why we have that giant concrete bunker wall along our waterfront.
