South Waterfront Block 45A | Dead

I wasn't sure if we had seen this rendering or not...

Nice! I like the 1/4 block towers. This really gets away from the slab design.

actually, i think it might be - aren't the blocks 40,000 sf? the tower (according to the pre-app notice) has a floor plate of 10,000. the john ross is 12,000.

SoWa needs this to start soon. Before everything down there grinds to a halt. This will really start creating a district.

There will be a lot of ground breaking starting up over the next few months down in SoWa. Block 31 (Mirabella) scheduled to start in May, Block 49 (Simpson Housing) any day now, and the 45 block also set to start development. With the Greenway set to start its design in the early summer and the park by late summer there will be a lot of movement in SoWa over the next 6 months.

The pace of development down there is actually faster than they had initially planned... unfortunately they aren't making as much urban renewal $$ as they originally thought.

Parts of the Greenway and parks should be started this year, I believe.

So this 320' tower is due to break ground around the time as the Mirabella?

I'm at a loss. How can they continue to break ground on properties no one is buying? I understand the Mirabella because it is a nitch but how are the others getting financing?

Several of these are rentals, so not a problem.
