Top Chef in Beautiful BC

Any Top Chef fans out there?

Recent episodes of Top Chef have brought the contestants to BC for the final rounds. There was a cool challenge that involved cooking a dish in a Gondola at Whistler. The most recent episode was filmed at Bao Bei and then the Salt Building.

Anybody see the crew around town? Rooting for anyone?

I hope Paul wins personally.

I believe they are at Black + Blue & Coast for the finale.

Also found shopping at the Whole Foods on Cambie.

Rooting for Paul as well, however I am supremely disappointed in this season. Too many catering challenges, too many gimmicks (Pee Wee Herman episode, Whistler episode), too many group challenges.

The best episode so far (I haven't watched the 1st Vancouver episode yet) was the Charlize Theron dinner since everybody was able to FINALLY cook their own food.

Disappointed that Nyesha wasn't on the main show (not Last Chance Kitchen) for a longer run.

Agreed on all counts. The season only just started to get good, and barely. Having Nyesha get cut for some one else's mistake is such BS, and watching the ongoing drama with Beverly was hard to watch. I still cannot believe she got booted off instead of those two harpies.

Just so happy to see Paul win it... though it was close. Very fun watching the chefs run around Vancouver.

Fun season. The final dishes that Paul and Super Bitch made looked outstanding.

Yeah, I'm glad Sarah lost just because of how unpleasant she was.

Good to see Granville Island get some exposure, along with Vikram and Angus An.

Paul's congee dish in the finale looked/sounded amazing.

^Totally agree. That dish looked the best to me as well (I'm a congee lover though).

I love Top Chef! The funny thing is I moved to Vancouver from DC and lived in Vancouver during the DC season. Then I returned to DC and watched the Vancouver ending filmed there. It was a pleasant surprise to see both Whistler and Vancouver featured. I've no doubt some of the footwork probably began when they were plotting out future seasons while the Olympics was underway.

So glad Paul won. Have never been so disappointed with how grating personalities on the show overwhelming the cooking. And for once I wasn't sure it was producer meddling like on countless other reality shows. Top Chef is the only one I can stomach, along with Project Runway once they narrow down the field a bit.

But this year on Top Chef it seemed a handful of the contestants were just bitter people who liked mouthing off. Some of the relentless slamming of Beverly seemed nearly racist, and I don't use that word often. But it was unsettling to see the persistent, unwarranted attacks on a fellow contestant.
