Hi Stefan,

your Chrysler building looks pretty good - great work! A drawing for the Chrysler building actually was the last one I've been working on, but I never finished. It's a pity that I lack the time to continue. Well, maybe one day...

Regards

Wow, I have not found my post in a long time. I thought it was removed or something but here it is!

Anyway, many thanks who have commented on my drawing of QWFC, I agree it's a little pale (Probably a recalibration of my monitor is needed), and I'm trying to fix that and add the final finishes like reflections and lighting effects, gradients to the façade.

I need opinions on the base however.... Below are 3 options; I need you to help me choose which accurately best describes the entrance of QWFC which I am rather confused at the moment. The drawing is based on the model of the tower based on the photos.

Many thanks!

Option 1:

Option 2:

Option 3:

Yes, I did it at my own time and pace. Wanted to participate in it but due to my army and military duties, I couldn't make it on time.

The overview of the drawing is here:

Oh, the Chongqing WFC. Very nice full size drawing there!!!

If you take it into Photoshop and do an "Auto Levels" the colours stand out more. But I'm sure you will be able to adjust them appropriately anyways.

Thanks Dylan!!!

Updated. Will still need some tweaking of the shadows on the base...
Resized to a smaller version as well:

Well I'll probably update those when needed, I still prefer good ol' Sears without those boxes...

Thanks.

Now for the final finish. 10:1 scale.
Next to it, resized to 4:1
And finally on the extreme right, 1:1 scale for the diagrams.

You are amazing at drawings Stefan, I can't believe how you do 1:bazillion scale to all your drawings. There should be a poster for your Chrysler Building.

Also, Stefan what paint program do you use?

No I have not drawn in vector. I tried it once, it proved tedious and difficult and from then since I have assumed vectors are mainly for artsy, animated, clipart-like drawings.

So far, pixel drawing has been quite comfortable and easier to manage.

Thanks, I use Corel Photopaint only. I once only used MS Paint, but I quickly picked up Corel for more effects and layering capabilities. Plus, it handles large file sizes pretty well.

Drawing them at this size requires a powerfully spec'ed PC to handle the drawings as well....

Surprise, surprise. I may have missed the drawing for the new NY poster, I may have a looong delay for this drawing, but as mentioned, I shall finish where I started. Someday, somehow, some other time, it will be finished.
