Next week, Oceanwide’s contractors will begin installing the perimeter shoring wall on the First Street site immediately east of 1 Ecker. This work will require large steel beams to be delivered to the site for the next several weeks. The San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency (SFMTA) requires that all oversized deliveries occur between midnight and 5:00 am so the beams will be delivered during these hours.
Every effort will be made to minimize the impacts to all neighbors during this time. During the installation of the shoring wall, drilled pile work will continue to be performed 24 hours a day as we complete the installation of the deep foundations on the Mission Street site and transition over to the First Street site in the coming month.
Excavation for the basement hasn't, the holes that they're digging on the first street side are so the excess wet cement from the soil mix wall has a controlled place to go. Mass excavation shouldn't start until mid next year (spring maybe).

Talked to a friendly engineer at the site today. He gave me a few interesting tidbits:
This morning they measured bedrock at 261 feet
They're drilling about 100 caissons into bedrock for Oceanwide alone
They are using some exotic concrete and fancy testing methods to ensure there aren't any voids when they pour each caisson
The retaining wall beams are about 114 feet long and 34 feet of that will be below the foundation.
He told me how much Malcolm is charging per caisson, but I won't repeat that here because it'll make us all sad we're not in the caisson drilling business
