Flatiron seems to be wrapping up. There are minimal lighting effects on the roof: several white lights shining up toward the top of the building. At ground level at the point where Melville connects with Pender (the front point of the Flatiron property), there is a 4-5 foot tall light "cylinder" which oscillates from colour to colour making a nice rainbow effect.

Scratch that...the colour-changing light stick at street level just in front of Flatiron is 6-7 feet tall...

^Interesting. I'll have to check that out sometime.

Here is a random pick I took of the top of the Flatiron in the snow yesterday:

The top pays homage to it's namesake, NYC's Flatiron.

I do love this building... though if I was a buyer I would have wanted larger balconies.

Sure, but in my opinion, the execution is horrid. I don't understand those "half floors" at the top either.

The penthouses do look a little odd... but they're going to enjoy their terraces.

I checked out that light. Here are 3 consecutively more blurry pics of it:

Lol, 6-7 feet tall? Then the people in the pictures must be dwarves!

It's a cool touch, but also feels sort of random. It looks like a radiator when its red...maybe they should incorporate a heating element.

Like a random light you'd see on a Star Trek set. When it's blue, it's like the warp core of a Federation starship.

Also, out of interest, what does the top "coat hanger" part of the building look like now? Is it a fine mesh or is it filled in?

Sorry for my obvious lack of ability when it comes to judging height! I guess my excuse is that it was flippin' cold and I was hurrying on past to get into the Shoppers Drug Mart. Also, from my place there is a view from high above that light stick, so looking down on it from that height, it is hard to judge. Hey...at least I reported it!

I'm getting tired of the seemingly ubiquitous LED rainbow effect. They should try choosing some complementary colour schemes rather than "let's just have every colour". Something about the lack of selectivity comes across as cheap and poorly designed to me.
