I wonder what enticed them to move now... moving from 1661 Portage to 201 was certainly a big move that took them to the heart of the city and helped burnish MNP's image as a big time player in accounting and consulting. But moving to TNS, just a few blocks away, doesn't seem like it would be worth the trouble at first glance... especially when they were already in a pretty modern building with a lot of amenities. I'm guessing Harvard's lease offer was just not competitive?

It all makes me wonder what Harvard's plan is... we went from a nearly full 201 Portage with the promise of a new hotel next door a few years ago, to an increasingly hollowed out building with no prospects of development on either of the two sites surrounding it.
It’s a new building. As the article says, they are designing it to there own specifications. As you have pointed out, there’s a demand for new class A space.

This is hugely exciting for TNS!

If somehow this demand at THIS price keeps up, hopefully that allows Harvard to stick to decent rental rates rather than dropping them again. Hopefully, hopefully someone jumps in at current pricing...

Anyone know if all the turquoise metal siding that has gone up on the east side is temporary? It looks like a shed (no pun intended).

^Nice shot, haven't seen many photos from that angle. Will be great to see the Sutton Place towers fill in more of that space.

Angle of the TNSE photo doesn't do it any favours, kinda looks tiny!

Not surprising with Manitoba Hydro looming in the foreground and TNS in the background.

These buildings were never going to be world beaters - basically just filler.

Adding some bulk to the skyline.

Also, they're a big improvement over a surface parking lot.

^Exactly, it's filling some key gaps south of Portage and creating density. But man, that surface lot by the Medical Arts has got to go!

Something new on the Bradburn site would also really change the look of that area...whatever happened to that plan?

But yes, the MAB surface lot is just a glaring hole in an otherwise nice urban fabric.

^Oh yeah, forgot about the Bradburn plan. That, along with the conversion of the Boyd building to residential could really help boost that area. Any further updates about the MAB conversion? Is it still going ahead, or have they hit a snag?

...apparently they are filing for demo permit of the crappy 2 storey building to the west of the Boyd building and a piling permit for the 6 storey parkade.

^ Please tell us that the parkade won't have direct access off Portage!

I'm not sure if this was mentioned here before, but Saturday's Freep noted that Chop steakhouse is going to open a new location at TNS.

That was announced with the hotel project as Northland Properties Corp owns the chain.
