The Hudson's Bay Company is really a part of American history too. American history did not start on July 4th 1776. The HBC had been in existence (and was the largest land owner in British North America) for more than a hundred years prior to the Declaration of Independence when we were all part of the same family and under the same king and flag.

the bay mens carries a lot of brands that are not available else where and men who want those brands will make the trek up there to get them, i hope they open more windows like they did with the womens second floor

And to answer SpongeG there will be even more mens brands once they move. They want the 6th floor to be the premier mens shop in the city. And yes they will open up as many windows as possible just like the women's floor.

okay - i was on the bay saturday - its gonna be a tight squeeze to get all of the 6th floor furniture etc onto the 5th somethings gonna have to get down sized

Actually I menat to say Top Shop / Top Man.
i.e. All the men's furnishing (socks, underwear, etc.) will all be on 6h, not just the designer stuff.
That'll be a hike.
It doesn't seem to be adding any square footage either, since the basement level seems to cover the entire floorplate of the store (as would 6th).

They are going to downsize the furniture dept. and make it more compact. It's quite spread out now.
