American schools do a poor enough job teaching their own history, let alone Canadian history.

The Hudson's Bay Company is really a part of American history too. American history did not start on July 4th 1776. The HBC had been in existence (and was the largest land owner in British North America) for more than a hundred years prior to the Declaration of Independence when we were all part of the same family and under the same king and flag.

I wonder if that'll work (getting guys to go all the way up there)?
Sorry my bad, both Topshop and Topman will be in the basement.
And to answer SpongeG there will be even more mens brands once they move. They want the 6th floor to be the premier mens shop in the city. And yes they will open up as many windows as possible just like the women's floor.

They're not sure what will be on the old men's floor yet; I think he did know but couldn't yet say.

Actually I menat to say Top Shop / Top Man.
i.e. All the men's furnishing (socks, underwear, etc.) will all be on 6h, not just the designer stuff.
That'll be a hike.
It doesn't seem to be adding any square footage either, since the basement level seems to cover the entire floorplate of the store (as would 6th).

They are going to downsize the furniture dept. and make it more compact. It's quite spread out now.

Tiffany reported their 2011 store sales and the Vancouver store made the top 5 in the Americas. This further reinforces the fact that Vancouver has one of the largest high end luxury markets in North America.

"The 5 highest-volume branch stores in the Americas in 2011 included 3 in the U.S. and 2 in Canada, and they are South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California, San Francisco and Chicago as well as in Vancouver and on Toronto's Bloor Street. We opened 6 new stores in the Americas in 2011, including one in Richmond, Virginia, a fourth store in Las Vegas in the Fashion Show Mall, a fourth store in the Chicago market in Northbrook, a store in Calgary, a second store in Vancouver in the Oakridge Centre and a third store in Brazil in Brasilia. Their results range from quite good to very strong, and that follows excellent first-year results from the 5 Americas stores we opened in the previous year."

Of interest - Target is opening a CityTarget in downtown Seattle (as well as ones in Portland, LA and SF).
